Born in Great Dunmow, Essex in 1765, Linsell was a remarkable man, who won single innings matches all over East Anglia as well as bets on long distance walking and running, and at the age of 90 was still walking long distances

This little known booklet has been reproduced in exact facsimile from the 1921 edition, itself a reprint of the original published in 1858, with an introduction by David Rayvern Allen
